GEORGETOWN TWP, MI (WHTC) -Two rare American flag are now in the possession of the Jenison Historical Museum.
According to WOOD TV 8, staff members recently found a flag displaying only 42 stars and another with 46 stars in an old donation box.
The 42-star flag was unofficial and used for less than a year between 1889 and 1890, and was updated when the country adopted Idaho. The 46-star flag flew between 1908 and 1912.
It’s part of their “It’s a Grand Ole Flag!” event which runs through August.
The Jenison Historical Museum is now showing the flags at its location on Port Sheldon Street.
