HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A youth program in Holland has received a $10,000 challenge grant to expand their Summer Work Program.
An anonymous donor provided the grant challenge to support Holland Youth Connections (HYC) programs and community members are encouraged to donate towards matching the challenge. The donor says that Holland Youth Connections is a lifeline for some of the young people in our community.
In it’s fifth year, the program in partnership with Escape Ministries and many local employers, provides employment opportunities that provide at-risk youth with work experience, career skills, and a chance to serve their communities.
Holland Public Safety says it has attributed to a 45% reduction in crime since 2013.
Donations may be dropped off or mailed. You can also contact Holland’s Human Relations Department at 616.355.1322 or by email. A video highlighting the program can be found online.
