HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Three women have achieved high honors by the Lakeshore’s corporate community.
The Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce awarded Francè Allen of Ventura Manufacturing with the Minority Business of the Year award, while Dawn Garcia Ward of Warner Norcross and Judd, along with Juanita Bocanegra of the Ottawa County Prosecutor’s Office, each received a Minority Business Champion award. Allen began as a migrant worker, joined Prince Manufacturing and Innotec, and then started what is now a multi-national company. Garcia Ward and Bocanegra founded Professional Lakeshore Latinas to unite local business professionals with mentoring, networking and support.
About 200 attended a luncheon at the Midtown Center on Wednesday where the awards were presented.
