HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The Tulip City has received a fresh leaf to put upon its municipal laurels … one that it wore well a year ago.
The website WalletHub named Holland as the best small city in the US to start a business for 2017, the second straight year for such an honor. Analysts went through 16 key metrics, ranging from average growth in number of small businesses to investor access to labor costs to size up the corporate friendliness of 1,261 communities.
Although Holland didn’t top any particular category, it did have the highest cumulative score in WalletHub’s findings at 50.22, about a full point ahead of runner-up Carbondale, Illinois. Springfield, Utah, East Chicago, Indiana and Jefferson City, Missouri rounded out the top five. No other city in Michigan placed in the top 30.
