GEORGETOWN TWP, MI (WHTC) – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious situation where three young girls were approached by two men Friday April 7, in Georgetown Township.
Captain Mark Bennett says the girls were riding their bikes around 4 p.m. in the area of 36th Avenue and Port Sheldon Road when they were approached by two men driving a white work van.
In the 3600 block of Port Sheldon the van stopped and two males subjects got out and tried to make contact with the girls. The girls who range in age from 10-12, rode off on their bikes and the two men got back in the van and drove off.
They were last seen westbound on Port Sheldon Road. The two men who got out of the van are described as white males in their late 30s to early 40s; one is around six feet tall, with a husky build and a beard, wearing a sweat shirt and sweat pants. The other man is around 5-foot-8-inches tall with a thin build and was wearing a dark colored mechanic style coverall.
Bennett says the van is described as a white work type van with no windows on the side, a ladder rack and a logo on the side. The girls were not able to make out what the logo looked like, but say it was a light blue square with white lettering. The van is in good condition with no visible damage or dents.
