JENISON, MI (WHTC) – Construction began Monday, April 10, on a new school in the Jenison Public School District.
The building on 28th Avenue and Baldwin Street will house the district’s Spanish-immersion program and also the Jenison Early CHildhood Center. The two-story building will have 36 classroom and will open in 2018.
Voters approved the $25 million bond in May 2016. The building will also feature two playgrounds and and two ball fields.
It’s been 47 years since a school was built in the district.
