HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Changes are coming to the Holland Farmers Market due to the Civic Center renovation slated to start in July.
Demolition will begin in July and construction begins in September so when the Farmers Market kicks off May 17 and vendors and patrons will see and experience a bit of a change.
Holland Mayor Nancy DeBoer tells WHTC News that fencing will be placed around the Civic Center and when you take the Center out of the community it will be an adjustment.
“We’re working to go up 8th Street moving for the Farmer’s Market and they will have restrooom facilities in the police department. We’re also renting some on that corner. We’ve worked with GDK and on the corner of 8th and Pine will have an office that people can use to work with the Farmers Market management. “
DeBoer says the GDK block will be under construction and changing as they go along. Motorists will have to be alert on Wednesdays and Saturdays due to congestion. Two way traffic will be on a stretch of 9th Street and that will help with traffic movement.
