HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The Grand River in Robinson Township is currently above flood stage and will continue to rise. The Flood Warning has been extended until Friday, April 14.
The National Weather Service says that as of Sunday evening the river was at 13.4 feet and flood stage is at 13.3 feet. The river will rise to nearly 14.9 feet by Monday evening.
Right now Vanlopik Road in Grand Haven is 1-2 feet under water and there is flooding of several homes.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office has issued an ALERT asking motorists to not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
The Michigan State Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division (MSP/EMHSD) is encouraging citizens and businesses to be prepared. Tips on how to prepare for a flood can be found here.
