The project is a national program started in 1990 to empower survivors of domestic and sexual violence. The medium of decorating a shirt is a creative and emotionally-healing outlet for those who have experienced domestic and sexual abuse. The individual shirts are displayed on a clothesline to be viewed by others as a testimony to their courage and experience. Shirts on display at the Ottawa County Courthouse and Loutit District Library in Grand Haven aree designed by local survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
