POLKTON TWP, MI (WHTC) – A pole barn fire near Coopersville had several fire departments battling the blaze Monday evening.
The fire in the 8600 block of Leonard started in the roof of the pole barn and when firefighters arrived, the owner was trying to remove equipment from the building.
WZZM TV 13 reports that although there was no livestock in the barn farming equipment was destroyed in the fire and everything inside is a total loss. Estimated damage is not available.
The cause of the fire is unknown and firefighters from Allendale, Crockery, Robinson and Wright-Tallmadge departments were on the scene with other Ottawa County departments covering for the departments that were on the scene. Firefighters had the fire under control in about an hour.
