ZEELAND TWP, MI (WHTC) – A Zeeland man is in serious condition after falling asleep at the wheel and crashing his vehicle.
Sgt. Eric Westveer of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says 29-year-old Tyjuan Bradock was northbound on 96th Avenue in Zeeland Township Sunday March 12, around 1:50 p.m. when witnesses say he began to weave within his lane.
A short time later he went off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch and then a retaining wall.
Bradock who was wearing his seatbelt told deputies he fell asleep while driving. He was transported to Spectrum Butterworth in serious condition. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
