HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – A late Monday morning fire at a mobile home park on Holland’s North Side completely destroyed one unit and reportedly damaged two others.
Fire department crews from Holland and Park Townships were dispatched to the Windmill Mobile Homes complex off of Lakewood Boulevard around 11 AM on a report of a blaze. They were able to bring the flames under control in about an hour, but not before a trailer was completely destroyed. Units on either side of that residence also suffered heavy smoke damage, along with possible fire damage.
A resident inside of the now-burned down trailer at the time of the blaze was able to escape safely, as well as those living in the other two affected units, and there were no reports of any injuries suffered by responding firefighters. The cause of the blaze is under investigation, but there are reports that an “electrical issue” that came up while the resident was cooking may have sparked the fire.
