GRAND RAPID, MI (WHTC) – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Grand Rapids has issued a High Wind Warning for Ottawa and Allegans counties.
It will go into effect at 7 a.m. today, March 8 until 7 p.m. this evening. The winds will peak late morning 30 to 40 mph with gusts around 60 mph. The NWS says the winds will be much greater than what we have seen in quite some time. The lack of leaves of tree will help reduce damage.
A Gale Warning along the lakeshore remains in effect until 7 p.m.with west gales to 40 knots and waves 7-11 feet.
Down power lines, limbs and trees are possible.
