GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – Consumers Energy is monitoring the weather closely and are prepared to respond to any power outages.
In Ottawa and Allegan County there is a Wind Advisory today, March 7, until 3 p.m. and a High Wind Watch for Wednesday from 7am until 7 p.m. Winds could gust well over 55 mph causing power outages.
Roger C. Morgenstern is Senior Public Information Director For Consumer Energy ans says being prepared is important.
“Make sure your electronic devices are charged and ready to go. Have a couple of days of drinking water, food and don’t forget about your pets. We remind people to stay away from downed power lines and with the winds we’re going to have some down. Stay 25 feet away from a downed power line and call 911 or Consumers Energy. Gas leaks are possible and remember a gas leak smells like rotten eggs. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.”
