HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Summer is still months away, but Pure Michigan is gearing up for a busy tourist season and the theme of their Summer campaign.
Dave Lorenz is Vice President of Pure Michigan and he told WHTC News the focus this Summer will be what they called “The Lake Effect.”
“Really celebrating the fact that we have 11,000 lakes in the interior of the state and of course we’re outlined by four of the five great lakes. You’re going to be hearing a lot about the water experience and the lake experience in Michigan. We’re also going to put a special focus on golfing this year. Golfing is huge this year.”
Lorenz says Michigan has more public golf courses than nay state in the country
A new website was introduced this Winter and it’s part of an ongoing initiative by Travel Michigan to evolve the Pure Michigan campaign into activity, or interest-based marketing in addition to its traditional marketing strategies. The website will be more personable and integrate social media sites.
