GEORGETOWN TWP, MI (WHTC) – Two teenagers are in the hospital, one in serious condition after a two vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Georgetown Township.
Sgt. Steve Austin with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says around 1:40 p.m. 19-year-old Zoey Diekema of Holland was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze westbound on Fillmore Street and when she turned left onto southbound 36th Avenue and failed to yield left right of way.
19-year-old Samantha Salliotte who was eastbound on Fillmore in a Ford Focus crashed into the passenger side of Diekema’s vehicle. Diekema’s front seat passenger 19-year-old MacKenzie Trammell of Grand Rapids was pinned in the vehicle and had to be extricated by Georgetown Township Fire Rescue.
Both Diekema and Trammell were transported to Spectrum Hospital. Salliotte was not injured in the crash and all three were wearing their seatbelts.
