HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – You’re invited to take a trip down memory lane as part of a fundraiser for Holland’s Civic Center.
At the Community Story Sharing Event you will have a chance to share your Civic Center memories that will be part of a short video produced by the City of Holland. All stories will be archived by the Holland Museum for the benefit of future generations in a planned exhibit.
Holland Mayor Nancy DeBoer says people who have lived here their whole lives have experienced so many things at the Civic Center.
“You think that everybody knows about the history, but they do not. We would love to have your stories recorded. I was just talking to someone from the Holland Historic Society and she talked about trick or treating and how you could go to the Civic Center to do that. I didn’t know that. We’d love to have your memories recorded.”
All ages are welcome and you can bring photos, programs and artifacts from past events. It takes place Saturday, February 25, from 2-5 p.m.
Donations for special improvements to the new building will be accepted.
Later that evening a Lip Sync Battle sponsored by Holland Youth Advisory Council will be presented by UV Moments. The free event is from 7-10 p.m. with registration at 6:30 p.m.
