ALLENDALE TWP, MI (WHTC) – Power has been restored in Allendale Township after a 26-year-old Hesperia woman crashed into a utility pole and brought down power lines and knocked out traffic signals as a result of a two-vehicle crash.
Sgt. Matt Wilfong of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says that around 9:17 p.m. deputies were called to the scene at Lake Michigan Drive and 48th Avenue. Sara Dezinski was in a Red Blazer westbound on Lake Michigan Drive and did not stop at 48th Avenue causing her to crash into a Silver Dodge driven by 21-year-old Daniel Essmeyer of Coloma.
The impact of the crash caused Dezinski’s Blazer to hit a utility pole and brought down power lines and traffic signals.
Essmeyer’s front and rear seat passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Spectrum Hospital and are listed in good condition.
The westbound lanes of Lake Michigan Drive and 48th Avenue from Becker to Lake Michigan Drive were closed until MDOT removed the traffic signals from the road.
Responding agencies were the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Road Patrol, Allendale Fire Rescue and Life EMS.
