HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Ottawa County Department of Public Health Miles of Smiles is a mobile dental unit that provides dental services.
The unit provides services for Medicaid insured and financially qualifying uninsured children in Ottawa County. It’s a collaboration of the dental society, dentists, hygienists, volunteers and school administrations.
“Our Miles of Smiles program is the best example of a community collaborative effort that I could ever envision.” says Registered Dental Hygienist Debra Bassett. Bassett also is an Oral Health Supervisor for the Ottawa County Department of Public Health.
Dr. Jere Meade will be the dentist on the Ottawa County Department of Public Health’s Miles of Smiles mobile dental unit this Friday, February 3, for Give Kids a Smile Day at Holland West School. Every child will receive a gift bag complete with a toothbrush, floss, prize and an activity.
