HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The countdown has begun for Community Action Agency’s (CAA) Walk for Warmth.
The agency in Ottawa County has a variety of programs and services for low income families, with the biggest one for utility assistance. Companies, schools, churches and individuals walk every year raising money through pledges to fund the programs and services.
Special Guest Speaker at this years walk is Tabitha Wolters. A working Mother who has experience on both sides of assistance. CAA Program Manager Paula Huyser says Wolters is someone who has benefited from their weatherization program.
“Wolters feels very strongly about the agencies services. She has also worked at one of the social service agencies so she has experienced firsthand both sides of the desk.”
The Community Action Agency’s Walk For Warmth is in it’s 29th year. Last year through their range of programs, they assisted over 3,500 qualified households in Ottawa County. If you are in need of assistance, details on how to apply for assistance are online.
The Walk For Warmth is February 11 at 8:30 a.m. at City on a Hill in Zeeland. Pledge forms are available online. A new Facebook page has been set up for the walk too.
