HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The budget-making process for the City of Holland continues this afternoon.
The biweekly work-study session for Mike Trethewey of the First Ward and his Council colleagues begins around 3 PM. “We’re going to be taking a bus trip of some of the highlights of the coming year’s projects,” the Mayor Pro Tem told “WHTC Morning News” earlier this week, “and then we’re going to have a report from all of our department heads, because this weekend, starting Friday night, we’re going to have dinner with those department heads. On Saturday, we’re are in our retreat, or as I like to call it, our ‘advance’ to plan next year’s budget.”
City Manager Ryan Cotton will come back in April with a series of special meetings for Council members to go over his staff’s preliminary spending plan for fiscal 2018 before a final vote on the matter in early May.
