HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Zeeland Community Hospital’s mission is caring for people and in 2016 many changes took place providing state-of-the-art health care to the community.
A new multi speciality clinic was launched with clinic space for different specialists for Cancer and Bariatrics in 2016. President Ron Lewis says they looked at the needs of the community along the lakeshore and that was access to care.
“We brought in a fellowship breast surgeon, an ear, nose and throat Doctor, plastics and several primary care doctors to meet the needs of the community.
Rehabilitation services were also expanded says Lewis.
“We expanded a few things in rehab. We have a really active sleep center in the hospital so we do many sleep studies, but we also expanded that to pediatrics this year. We partnered with Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital and pediatrics programs. We also expanded pediatricout patient services in the community.
In 2017 a new permanent state-of-the-art MRI facility will open in May and a celebration of the hospital’s 90th anniversary will take place.
