HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A study from Realtor.com says the Grand Rapids area is the 3rd nationally for a lack of available housing.
The study also says that just seven-tenths of a percent of the housing inventory in Ottawa County was on the market in December.
Tom Steel Procurement Manager for Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity, says the study just goes to show the need for safe, affordable housing and speaks to the demand that’s out there. “We need volunteers on the construction side, we need volunteers on the Restore side. It’s a never ending process, that’s for sure.”
Steel says everything they can do to increase sales at the Habitat for Humanity Restore, goes back to the ministry.
Right now The Great Legs Challenge is on. Create a table by getting a tabletop from the Restore and design the legs to go with it. Prizes will be given to the most creative tabletop. Deadline to enter is February 24, 2017.
