GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – The Flood Warning for the Grand River at Robinson Township in Ottawa County is in effect until Thursday, January 19.
The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids says as of 8:00 p.m. Thursday, the stage was at 13.4 feet and flood stage is 13.3 feet.
Senior Forecaster of the National Weather Service Bob Dukesherer says ice jams are causing flooding along the Grand River in Kent County.and that ice jams can release quickly, and that creates a “wall of water” in many cases.
Right now minor flooding is occurring n Robinson Township and the river will continue to rise, but fall below flood stage by Wednesday morning, January 18.
