CROCKERY TWP., MI (WHTC) – A 20-year-old Muskegon man is recovering from injuries suffered near Nunica yesterday afternoon.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Brian Buter, Preston Cahl was driving his truck westbound on I-96 just after 12 Noon and just before the Apple Avenue overpass, he moved into the left lane, attempting to pass a slower vehicle, but lost control on the icy road conditions. His vehicle veered to the right, went off of the highway and down an embankment before striking a large tree.
Cahl was taken to Hackley Hospital in serious condition; an 18-year-old passenger was not hurt. The crash remains under investigation.
