HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – While Holland Public School students enjoyed time away from the classroom during the Christmas/New Year’s break, Dr. Brian Davis had a chance to survey his district’s scene.
Currently the longest-serving superintendent along the Lakeshore, Dr. Davis took a long look at the future needs of the district’s schools, buoyed by a recent audit of over 13 hundred people that showed 90 percent of all stakeholders felt the district invested well with its “Build 21” bond initiative of nearly seven years ago. “That was a very great way for us to have a benchmark measure to say ‘how did we do?’” he said in an appearance on “WHTC Morning News.” “Now that we have that feedback and that we did very well, we want to make sure we maintain that investment very well.”
Dr. Davis doesn’t feel that the district will need to go back to the community to ask for more money in the near future, but is aware of maintaining buildings’ infrastructure and keeping up with technological advances in the classroom.
