HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – The Lakeshore’s two United Ways are “partnering.”
That’s the term used by the Greater Ottawa County United Way and the Allegan County United way to describe “sharing a combination of administrative, leadership and back office functions.” Careful to stress that the two agencies will remain separate and under the control of its own boards, the leaders of the two United Ways say that operations will be streamlined without compromising their own particular community goals.
The partnership discussions began this past June, when the Allegan County agency reached out to neighboring United Ways in the search for a new executive director, and Ottawa County officials brought up its own countywide merger efforts made a decade ago. This shared services agreement begins today and will be reviewed in three years.
