HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – The case of investigating a stabbing on Holland’s North Side has not been an easy one for detectives.
That’s because of an apparent lack of cooperation by the 26-year-old victim, who was treated for a single wound at Holland Hospital following the Monday afternoon incident on Holland’s North Side. The man, whose name has not been disclosed by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, claims that he was walking along Riley Street near 136th Avenue when a vehicle with three men inside pulled up. One of the men came out and assaulted the victim before jumping back in the vehicle, which then sped off. A friend of the victim came shortly after the incident and initially took him to urgent care at the Lakeshore Medical Campus, where doctors there notified authorities.
No arrests have been made thus far, and Sheriff’s Captain Mark Bennett says that the victim continues to be “reluctant” to talk about the matter with detectives, four days after the incident. However his office has received some leads in the matter, and tips to Silent Observer are still welcome.
