HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – Two Holland men were hospitalized after a single-vehicle crash on Holland’s North Side overnight.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jay Douglas, a 58-year-old man was driving his car eastbound on Douglas Avenue around 3:30 AM, with a 60-year-old man as a passenger, when they encountered trouble near the Lakewood Boulevard intersection. “The vehicle struck a curb on the south side of the roadway,” Douglas explained. “The driver then lost control before overturning (the car) and (having the car) come to rest on the north side of the roadway.”
The driver was buckled up but his passenger was not. The two men were taken to Holland Hospital in stable condition with head injuries.
Douglas did not immediately disclose any names of those involved, as alcohol use “was a factor” in the crash, which remains under investigation.
