HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – It may not be road construction season now along the Lakeshore, but it doesn’t mean that orange barrels and barricades won’t be in place on Holland’s North Side.
The Michigan Department of Transportation will have both directions of US-31 blocked off in 10-minute intermittent intervals between 9 PM and 11:30 PM this evening to allow utility crews to complete some work around the Lakewood Boulevard overpass. The ramps to and from that roadway will also be closed during those times, with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Road Patrol directing traffic.
Beginning tomorrow, CSX Railroad workers will have James Street blocked off between 132nd and 136th avenues while they repair a damage rail at the railroad grade crossing involving the spur into the Consumers Energy plant in Port Sheldon Township. The work should last a couple of days, weather permitting, and a signed detour will be posted by the Ottawa County Road Commission.
