GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – Three suspects have been charged and two have been named after committing an armed robbery near a Wesco gas station in Grand Haven Friday night December 9.
Sgt. Kristie Wendt says a two-count felony warrant for robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery was issued for 19-year-old Marlin Suttons-Kelly of Norton Shores and 17-year-old Joshua Smelker of Grand Haven. Both are lodged in the Ottawa County jail on a $25,000 cash bond. The 15-year-old juvenile has been charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. The juvenile suspect whose name is not being released is awaiting a detention hearing.
The incident occurred near 14750 Mercury Dr. in Grand Haven Twp. just before 8 p.m. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department received reports on the suspects’ physical and vehicle description and a Grand Haven Public Safety Officer located the vehicle.
When other patrol cars came along, one of the passengers of the suspected vehicle fled on foot, but was found shortly after by K-9 units.
The victim of the robbery was unharmed in the incident.
