LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Christmas came early for nine projects along the Lakeshore that will share in 47.6 million dollars from the state Natural Resources Trust Fund in 2017.
The fund’s Board voted on Friday for the following:
*165 thousand dollars to the City of Holland for entrance improvements to the DeGraaf Nature Center Park.
*148 thousand to Park Township for trail and access improvements at Keppel Forest.
*300 thousand to Port Sheldon Township for renovating facilities at Windsnest Park.
*560 thousand to the City of Grand Haven, divided evenly for renovation of Waterfront Stadium Park and parking improvements at Mulligan’s Hollow Park.
*300 thousand to the state DNR for replacing the restroom building along the Grand River Channel at Grand Haven State Park, as well as 150 thousand for renovating the Echo Point Shooting Range at the Allegan State Game Area.
*729 thousand to the Ottawa County Parks Department for expanding the Bend Area Open Space park.
*200 thousand for developing two miles of the Spoonville Trail into the village of Nunica.
All of the grant recommendations by the Board will be considered by the Legislature when a new session begins next month.
