GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – You’ll want to make sure the snow blower starts and your vehicle is prepared for winter as old man winter will be making his first appearance in West Michigan.
The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Ottawa and Allegan Counties Wednesday night, December 7 until 4 p.m. Friday, December 9.
Snow showers will increase overnight into Thursday morning with a total of 8-10 inches by Friday evening. Winds will be gusty and that will produce blowing and drifting of snow.
Heavy Lake Effect snow will create whiteout conditions for the Thursday morning commute. The Michigan Department of Transportation reminds motorists to adjust speeds based on driving conditions and to take it slow in snow and ice.
