ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) – Downtown Zeeland merchants will kick off the annual “Feel the Zeel of Giving” promotion today, December 7 through Friday, December 9 by providing extras for customers and raising money for an organization that aids cancer victims.
There will be several extra events happening in the evenings with the idea that local downtown businesses can give back to their community. Horse-drawn trolley rides, photos with Santa, live reindeer, music and more awaits you. The events run from 6;30-8 p.m. all three nights.
The Downtown Holiday Open Huis is December 8 with businesses offering even more savings.
Zeeland Mayor Kevin Klynstra says it’s important to support the merchants in downtown Zeeland. “You know the merchants in Zeeland sponsor a lot of our events so let’s give them some business and go out and do your Christmas shopping in Downtown Zeeland.
Downtown merchants will donate a portion of their proceeds to Shields of Hope West Michigan. The nonprofit organization consists of local emergency service members who volunteer their time spreading hope, love and encouragement to community residents affected by cancer throught fundraising efforts.
