MUSKEGON, MI (WHTC) – One of the murder trials against Jeffrey Willis in Muskegon County will not start today as scheduled.
The trial has been delayed because Willis says jail staff took notes he had for his attorney, Brian Hosticka, and gave them to authorities.”Basicially our position is going to be that the prosecution is using Mr. Willis as a tool in his own prosecution.” Hosticka said.
Hosticka is now trying to get the case against Willis for the murder of Rebekah Bletsch in 2014 dismissed thanks to the latest revelation from his client. Bletsch’s father said he is not happy with the tactics being used by Willis and his defense. “He’s pretty mushc like say a rat in a trap and he’s gonna do anything he can to get out of it. “
Willis testified Friday during an evidentiary hearing, making his first time on the stand. He is also charged with the murder of gas station attendant Jessica Heeringa in 2013.
