HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The job has not lost its charm on Nancy DeBoer.
Now in her second year as Holland’s first female mayor, the long-time City Councilwoman says that she still has the same enthusiasm for the post as she had when she was sworn in nearly 13 months ago, especially this week with the Parade of Lights, the Mayor’s Holiday Open House in City Hall and the Sinterklaas Eve festivities in the Tulip City.
“I really love being with people,” DeBoer said in the weekly “City Hall Chatter” segment on “WHTC Morning News” today. “I love the festivity of it and I love bringing people together. It is just a magical moment and it’s great to have a reason to come together, to celebrate. It is really wonderful.”
DeBoer and her fellow City Council members next month will begin the budget-making process for fiscal 2018.
