HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Herman Miller’s Hickory Facility in Spring Lake has just received a renewed “Star” for workplace safety and health status.
The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) awarded the designation for it’s Hickory Facility in Spring Lake. The Hickory Facility, which first received its initial MVPP ( Michigan Voluntary Protection Program) Star Award in 2012, manufactures office systems furniture.
According to the office of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), one of the Spring Lake facilities best practices is it’s lifting device inspection program. The program uses nylon slings which are identified and tagged for inspections performed by the vendor contracted to inspect lifting devices.
Two additionsl Hermam Miller facilities located in Holland and Zeeland are also current MVPP State sites. All three sites are exempt from programmed inspections for three years.
