HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Nominations for the 2016 Social Justice Awards are now being accepted in the City of Holland.
The City of Holland Human Relations Commission awards individuals who exemplify the virtues of social justice by promoting equal opportunity and equal access for all citizens in the categories of Housing, Education, Employment, and Government/Community Relations.
The Social Justice Award also has a student/youth category for students ages 13 to 19. The 2016 winners will be announced in early January 2017. An awards ceremony will be held later that month.
To nominate a person, program, agency, business or employer, a letter with supporting information should be submitted indicating the award category. Nomination forms can be found at the City’s Human Relations website. Each letter should address the following: (1) Description of the involvement and or services provided to a diverse population; (2) Statement on how diversity is valued and demonstrated; and (3) List of involvement with programs and activities promoting equal opportunity and social justice.
