WRIGHT TWP, MI (WHTC) – A 64-year-old man was found pinned in his vehicle on I-96 just east of 16th Avenue in Ottawa County.
Deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene around 2:40 a.m on Saturday, November 19 and found a vehicle in the median underneath the cable divider. Sgt. Kristie Wendt says Robert Ritter, 64, of Muskegon was found pinned in his vehicle and had to be extricated by Wright Tallmadge Fire Rescue.
Ritter was westbound on I-96 when he lost control of his vehicle and went off the left side of the roadway into the median cable wires. He was pinned in his vehicle for approximately 30 minutes and transported to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids in stable condition.
Responding agencies were the Ottawa County Road Patrol, Wright Tallmadge Fire Rescue and Life EMS Ambulance.
