HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The streets of downtown Holland will be filled with holiday cheer this weekend.
The annual Holiday Open House will feature over 30 stores and boutiques offering unique gift options, holiday carolers will provide the soundtrack and Santa will be at the Carolyn Stitch studios located at 206 College Avenue in downtown Holland. Kids can get their picture taken with Santa and also visit his reindeer at the petting corral.
Sally Laukitis of the Holland Visitors Bureau says they will be participating for the first time this year and selling the 2016 Holland Christmas card that was designed by local artist Carolyn Stitch for the 16th year in a row. Their offices are located at 78 E 8th Street in Holland.
“You know I struggle because I need snow, but it is a wonderful time fort shopping and downtown is looking beautiful. They have been decorating and it’s starting to look a lot like Christmas.” says Laukitis.
The evening concludes with the annual tree lighting ceremony and a Christmas carol sing-a-long at the corner of 8th Street and Central Avenue.
Holland’s Holiday Open house runs Saturday, November 19 from 5-8 p.m.
