GRAND HAVEN TWP., MI (WHTC) – A 55-year-old Grand Haven woman suffered critical injuries in a two-vehicle crash south of her hometown late on Monday morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Bob Ruster, Peggy Brandon was driving her SUV eastbound on Wintergreen Street “at a high rate speed inside of the trailer park,” and apparently went through a stop sign and into 144th Avenue. Her vehicle was broadsided by a southbound station wagon, causing Brandon, who wasn’t buckled up, to be thrown from the SUV.
She was flown to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital for treatment of multiple injuries, the most severe of which being a closed-head ailment, while the other driver, 32-year-old Padriac O’Connor of Holland, was wearing a seat belt and wasn’t hurt. The crash remains under investigation.
