HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The Holland Rescue Mission is getting ready for their Annual Great Thanksgiving Banquet for those in need.
Seating will be provided for over 1300 guests and all are welcome at no cost. The Mission says it’s a time for fellowship to families in the area who cannot afford to prepare a meal or who have no one to share the holiday with.
At the end of the evening, each household receives a care box filled with personal and household items. Each box is filled with about 20 different items. A total of 525 boxes are available at the event for each family that attends. The Mission is still seeking families, businesses and churches to help fill those boxes with 130 boxes to go.
Anna Southwell of the Holland rescue Mission says they are also in need of 100 more turkeys,120 desserts and 60 more tables to be covered for table hosts the night of the event.
The Great Thanksgiving Banquet is Wednesday, November 23, at Devos Fieldhouse at Hope College. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the meal is served at 6 p.m.
Contact the mission to volunteer, donate or to fill a box for the banquet.
