PARK TWP., MI (WHTC) – Creating awareness of being more than just a place to go during the summer is spurring a Lakeshore community.
On Saturday, the Black River Band is performing a two-hour concert at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds in Park Township, with no admission charge and no parking fees.
It’s the third such free event this year promoted by the Ottawa County Fair and Park Township, according to Township Supervisor Jerry Hunsberger. In a recent appearance on “WHTC Morning News,” Hunsberger said that, “We have been working very hard that last couple, three years of finding ways of working in a partnership fashion to provide activities that are family-oriented and fun, many of them at little or no cost. Part of what our goal is here is to make sure that these facilities (including the Park Township Airport) are available on an ongoing basis, not just in the summertime.”
Youngsters of all ages are encouraged to dress up in costume, with a kids trick-or-treat beginning at 6 PM, followed by the concert at 6:30 PM.
