HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – A two-vehicle crash on Holland’s North Side just after the Thursday morning commute hospitalized two Holland women.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant David VanderPloeg, 25-year-old Daisy Jarquin-DeMunoz was driving her SUV westbound on Lakewood Boulevard towards Douglas Avenue around 9 AM, while 52-year-old Yvette Fontaine was looking to continue going eastbound on Lakewood. The younger woman apparently drove through a red light and into Fontaine’s car, which was proceeding on a green light.
Both drivers were taken to Holland Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, with Jarquin-DeMunoz cited for failing to stop at the red traffic signal. The crash remains under investigation.
