HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – With about six months to go before Tulip Time 2017 gets underway, 20 works to symbolize Holland’s annual signature event have been determined.
Mark Tanis of the Image Group in Holland was selected by festival officials and the Holland Area Arts Council to go over 108 submissions from 54 artists to come up with the final hopefuls for the Art in Bloom Poster Competition. A total of 18 artists are vying for the honor, with Alla Dickson and Melanie Turturici each having two pieces of work among the 20.
Representatives from the Festival and the HAAC will make the final decision, which will be revealed in a February reception, with the other 19 works going into a “Viewer’s Choice” public competition that concludes on May 13th. A link to the official announcement and an image of the 20 finalists is here.
The festival runs from May 6th through the 14th.
