ALLENDALE, MI (WHTC) – Two of West Michigan’s institutions of higher education entered into a “partnership agreement” yesterday.
Presidents Thomas Haas of Grand Valley State and Joe Stowell of Cornerstone formally signed documents that would allow students to concurrently enroll at both universities. The deal will expand GVSU’s engineering program that would enable Cornerstone to offer degrees in that discipline for the first time. Four emphasis areas involving the environment, design and innovation, management and data science will be created and taught at both schools.
According to Dr. Haas, the agreement, which takes effect on January 1st, addresses the need for more engineers in Michigan.
