HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A new exhibit opens called “For the Future Peace:World War II and Holland on the Homefront” at the Holland Museum.
Education and Outreach Manager for the Museum Connie Locker says in the Holland area there were over 118 fatalities in the war. “The exhibit talks about families and friends who were back home and how everything they did was for the war effort. Kids saving grease to donate, scrap drive and air raids are some of the topics covered. The exhibit also covers Holland residents who were abroad and here at home with memories and recollections. It’s a very personal way to explore World War II.”
Other events taking place at the Museum include Cappon House by Candlelight that will run the weekend of October 21 and 28th and Monsters at the Museum will feature trick or treating in the exhibits, games and spooky crafts. Free admission for children in costume and their accompanying adults on Saturday, October 29.
