HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has announced that the 8th Street intersection at US-31 has reopened and that by the end of next week, NB US-31 could be reopened to traffic.
Leo Evans of MDOT says crews are continuing to pave the entire stretch of NB US-31 from 8th Street to Quincy. Starting on Friday, October 14 and continuing through Saturday October 15, from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. the top course of asphalt paving will be completed from Lakewood north to Quincy. Each intersection will be closed for 1-2 hours while the paving is completed through the intersection. Police will be on hand to assist with the closures and redirecting traffic.
The week of October 17 is when the top course paving will be complete from Lakewood Boulevard to 8th Street and that includes pavement markings, signs and traffic signals along NB US-31.
NB US-31 should be reopened to traffic at the very end of the week of October 17 or early in the week of October 24.
