HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The search is on for suspected arsonists that torched a carport in the Holland Heights neighborhood on Saturday night.
According to Holland Public Safety Captain Keith Mulder, fire and police crews were dispatched around 10:30 PM to a blaze in the 300 block of Stratford Way. They found the carport completely engulfed in flames with two vehicles parked inside of it. The structure collapsed before firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control, and the vehicles sustained “severe damage.”
After several days of investigation, it was determined that the fire was intentionally set. No reason was disclosed as to why the carport was set ablaze and suspects are being sought.
