LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The state is giving a Hudsonville parts maker a financial hand in its expansion plans.
The Michigan Strategic Fund is awarding a 400 thousand-dollar Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant to Royal Technologies Corporation to help it build a new 33.7 million-dollar plant in Jamestown Township, creating 66 jobs. The maker of injection molding components for a variety of industries opted to build closer to its current headquarters instead of selecting a site in Alabama where, along with Texas, Royal also has regional operations.
The township is also offering property tax abatements for the project, and Royal is receiving a 92 thousand-dollar grant from West Michigan Works for developing the additional workforce. Six years ago, Royal received a 50 percent break on property taxes from the City of Hudsonville for 3.4 million dollars of machines and equipment that was installed at its Corporate Grove facility.
No timetable as to when this new plant will be built and in operation was immediately disclosed.
